This is my seventh year as the Instructional Technology Resource Teacher (ITRT) at Westridge. We are fortunate at Westridge because the administration has scheduled technology in the block for half day, splitting time with the library. This creates open lab times for the teachers to bring their classes to the computer lab.
When the students come to the computer lab during their scheduled time, the lesson presented will implement grade level objectives. Few people realize that I helped open Westridge in 1989 as a fifth grade teacher and remained in Room 22 until June, 2003, when the Instructional Technologist position was created through a six year state grant. It has been my pleasure to be part of the Westridge staff for these past 21 years. I have watched many children grow up at Westridge, often teaching their siblings as well. Now I am at the point where students of my early fifth grade classes are sending their children to Westridge!! My own children also grew up over the years that I have been teaching at Westridge and now I have seven grandchildren. One of my grandsons now attends Westridge! | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
